Children’s work

Children’s work continues to be fruitful. Some considerations:

Understanding God’s heart for children
Reaching families, not just children
Learning the use of key teaching tools and becoming equipped for the work
Connecting with Primary schools
Learning how to take assemblies
Running kids clubs and Holiday Bible clubs
Growing a Sunday School
Nurturing faith in children from Christian homes living in a hostile spiritual environment
Safeguarding and child protection issues and procedures
The role of children camp work

Things specified as being the will of God – the common calling for all believers:-

That all may be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth - 1 Tim 2
For Salvation & Fellowship with God - Heb 3:1; 1 Cor 1:26; 2 Thess 2:13-15,
To become like Christ Rom 8:29, that he should be the first among many brothers and sisters in the family of God Heb 2:14
To live a Holy Life 2 Tim. 1:9; Eph 4:1; 2 Peter 1:10-11; 1 Thess 4:3 Holiness and devotion to God
To a life of service Heb 9:14-15, which means both work and worship
To a life of obedience Rom. 1:5-6 obedience by faith in Christ not faith in self.
To be doers of good Eph 2:10; Tit 2:14
To a life of discipleship Mark 1:17-20 (a) Discipling self “Follow me” and (b) Discipling others be “Fishers of men” Matt 28:19-20
Having a thankful spirit, giving thanks in all circumstances 1 Thess 5:18
As a group, functioning as part of the Body of Christ, the Church 1 Pet 2:9 a holy nation, a special people, priest of God on earth
Using the gifts of HS are given in accordance with His will - Heb 2:4; 1 Cor 12:7.
